Approximate dates for important steps in the Programmatic EIS process are as follows:

  • Public Scoping Comment Period: Dec. 2005–Jan. 2006
  • Draft Programmatic EIS Published: Dec. 2007
  • Draft Programmatic EIS Public Comment Period: Dec. 21, 2007 - April 21, 2008
  • Final Programmatic EIS Published: 2008
  • Record of Decision Published: To be determined

Next Step: Final PEIS

The number and nature of the comments received on the Draft PEIS will largely determine the amount of time it will take to respond and to produce a Final PEIS. However, the current schedule calls for publishing a Final PEIS in the fall of 2008.
